Who Is Matt?

A husband, a father, and a man running out of time to spare.

Matt Dicker grew up in a family where kidney disease was already part of the story. He watched his father manage it while working full-time and raising a family. Now Matt is living the same reality, and he is trying to be the same kind of dad his father was for him.

He spends 25 to 30 hours every week on dialysis, on top of a full-time job, a marriage, and two kids who need their dad. There is no permanent fix other than a kidney transplant.

What people who have been through it actually say.

People feel like I have taken something out of me, but really I gained something completely immeasurable that no one can ever take away from me.
AngelAltruistic living kidney donor, donated to a stranger she had never met
If you are at all tempted to help someone in this way, try it. It is an opportunity to change someone's life. If I had another kidney to spare, I would do it again.
Libby FrashierLiving kidney donor
I can honestly say that I never felt scared. My anxiety about having surgery was worse than the actual surgery and recovery. I would do it again, and I would have done it sooner.

Some beautiful person gave me another chance and I will always be incredibly grateful for the gift. It really has changed my life completely.
